Few people know that "The other half of the sky" is an expression coined by Mao Tse-tung to define the woman.
In truth, the complete phrase was "The woman holds up the other half of the sky". A definition that has gone around the world and has become a true hymn to women, a perfect synthesis in which woman stands as a universe in its own right, as a part of the celestial vault that dominates us and that wraps the earth.
So, thanks to the title, our vision of this work becomes more complete. In fact, it shows, behind the sensual carnality of the forms, also the mystery of the eternal feminine, its extraordinary magnetism, its magical spell, so ancient and ancestral.
This reveals the power and fertility of women, capable of giving life and procreating, as well as their apparent fragility, weakness and emotionality, behind which lies an extraordinary inner strength that allows them to draw on unsuspected resources, to face every adversity in silence, but with tenacity, in order to protect and defend that life that, by God’s will, only they are able to create and nourish in their wombs.
